Common Wealth Games 2010 will be held in Delhi in the month of October for the very first time in the year 2010. This exclusive event would be featuring 17 sports which would be played by excellent athletes from all over the world. Delhi is looking in its best shape these days and the whole city is excited about this event. It will reform the city, giving a much charming look. For the public convenience and attraction, new call booths, shopping areas, bus shelters would be opened. This multinational sports event is held in every 4 years and includes Commonwealth of Nations. Almost 5000 athletes participate in this grand event which is organized by the CGF, commonwealth games federation.
The spirit of sports is so high that commonwealth games include 17 sports. Sports like badminton, Aquatics (Synchronized Swimming Swimming, and Diving), Athletics (Track and Field, Road Walk and Marathon), Archery, Boxing, Badminton, Cycling (Track, Road Mass Start and Road Time Trials),), Hockey, Gymnastics (Artistic and Rhythmic Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby 7s, Shooting (Pistol, Small Bore, Full Bore and Clay Target), Squash, Tennis, Table Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling would be included. All this is attracting huge mass of people and already so much of preparations have been done.
The grounds are in excellent form. Venue are Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex; Cycling, Gymnastics and Wrestling at Cluster II: : Yamuna Sports Complex; Badminton and Squash at Cluster IV: Siri Fort Sports Complex; Hockey and Archery Finals (India Gate) at Cluster V: Talkatora Garden Complex MDC National Stadium Complex; and Swimming and Boxing at Cluster VI: Indira Gandhi Sports Complex; Archery (Qualification Rounds) and Table Tennis at Cluster III. Work is satisfactorily progressing.
At present as many as 53 countries are participating and 71 teams will glorify it. Teams of Australia, Canada, whales, New Zealand and Scotland have been proudly participating in every commonwealth game, Australia enjoying highest credit of scored. India, is really happy to feature 19th commonwealth game. For security concerns, a very tight police force would be deployed much before the games start. Regular state police would be given special training and tourists would be properly taken care of.
For the sake of convenience of athletes, India will sponsor free trip to taj modal. For physical preparations, myriad of amenities would be offered to the sports persons. Free accommodation, health facilities, pollution free environment, comfortable games village would also be provided. Also English speaking drivers would be provided for the tourists. Further 1000 people per month would be taught English for the same reason. Gwalior in Madhya PradeshAgra and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, Bhopal and Bihar and Puri in Orissa would see more of such activities as these are the major tourist destinations. All the street beggars would be given shelter by the Delhi government or would be sent back to his/her residence.
The city has already consists of many international features. However, many modifications are seen and government is taking every possible step to improve the look of Delhi. Transport development, upgrading of old structures, etc are all included.
