There are two types of low floor buses; one is red bus which is an AC bus. Second one is a green bus which runs smoothly on the Delhi roads but is doesn’t have AC facility. Both of the buses are preferred by Delhi people as it is very smooth and comfortable. With the system of electric gates, safety has been taken care of very carefully and intelligently in both there buses. Besides these two, we have private blue line and DTC buses too.
Besides the buses which are a great help for people who have to travel daily and otherwise also, Delhi metro is another great invention. Metro has a great hand in controlling the Delhi traffic. Metro has an AC inside it. In face, new metros have mobile charging points too. It runs with an average speed of 40 kms per hour. It is a very suitable, convenient, easy and comfortable way to travel anywhere in Delhi. There are some sections in Delhi which are yet to be covered by metro but the work is progressing. There are three lines of metro, green yellow and red. We have till date, 59 stations of metro.
Rickshaw and autos are the three wheelers seen very often in Delhi. People prefer to take these for short distances as well as long distances. The pedal powered rickshaws are for short travel and is seen in a wide quantity here. While the auto is run by CNG. Although they are convenient to the people, it has proved to be a huge disaster to traffic management. In face, in the congested places like chandni chowk, they are the main reason for traffic.
As for airways, IGI serves both domestic as well as international connections and is situated along the gurgaon highway. This airport is experiencing a great modernization and by the year 2024, this airport will have four runways. Railways also have a huge support in Delhi transport. New Delhi railway station and old Delhi railway stations handle the railway part.
